Today marked our 7th Annual Day of Caring, and what a day it was!
Bright and early we started things off, as usual hoping the weather would be on our side! A bit of drizzle at 7am didn’t dampen the spirits of the workplace volunteers and coo unity group partners that came out to our Breakfast kick-off.
This year, over 140 volunteers were out for the day, or a part of it working hands-on with 16 projects. Tasks ranged from painting, gardening, cleaning, and large scale community clean-ups.
Luckily the grey skies cleared and the sun came out in spectacular fashion, as if it knew there was work that needed to be done! And, work these volunteers did! We’d like to give a special shoutout to the workplace teams from:
- Atlantic Lottery
- BMO Financial Group
- BDO Canada LLP
- Bell Aliant
- Canada Revenue Agency
- HR Project Partners
- Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette & Meridia Recruitment
- Ricoh Canada Inc
- Stewart McKelvey Law
- Suncor Energy
- Terrapure Environmental
Partnering in a different way was the Print and Sign Shop, who provided all the site signage for each location for the second year.
The charities and community groups that had a project completed today include:
- Bowring Park Foundation
- Buckmasters Circle Community Centre
- Easter Seals NL
- Eating Disorder Foundation NL
- Home Again Furniture Bank
- George StreetUnited/Jimmy Pratt Centre
- Manuels Rivers Natural Heritage Society

Thank you to each and every volunteer for caring about your community and working everyday, not just today, to make it a great place for everyone!
